Keller Swan Injury Attorneys, a top-rated personal injury law firm in Atlanta, proudly co-hosted the 2025 Legal Leaders Law School Scholarship Luncheon in collaboration with Tehlirian Law Group and Legally Rooted Law. Held at the Kimpton Shane Hotel in Midtown Atlanta, the event brought together a vibrant community of law students, attorneys, and legal industry leaders to celebrate academic excellence and provide scholarship support for future legal professionals.

Celebrating Legal Excellence and Community Leadership

The Legal Leaders Luncheon, designed to promote diversity in the legal profession, offered more than just networking. Attendees enjoyed professional headshots, a photo booth, a book signing, brunch, and a dynamic panel discussion featuring nine esteemed attorneys from across the Southeast. The event focused on empowering aspiring attorneys through mentorship, leadership development, and scholarship opportunities.

$10,000 Scholarship Awarded to Georgia State University Law Student

The highlight of the event was the announcement of nearly $20,000 in scholarships to deserving students. The $10,000 grand prize was awarded to Jameia Booker, a third-year law student at Georgia State University College of Law.

Booker, an Atlanta native, is a first-generation college graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, an HBCU, and the founder of Transformed By Jay LLC, a nonprofit organization that provides free college and law school application support to students from underserved communities. A mother to a six-month-old daughter, Nuri, Booker has demonstrated unwavering dedication to her education, community, and advocacy work.

Throughout her time in law school, she has taken on numerous leadership roles and spearheaded over fifteen events focused on diversity, inclusion, and student support. Her service includes establishing peer mentoring groups, organizing financial aid workshops, and launching initiatives to amplify the voices of first-generation and underrepresented students.

Booker’s path to law school has not been without significant challenges. During her first year, she became her parent’s power of attorney following a suicide attempt, a responsibility she balanced while continuing her legal studies. Despite facing academic setbacks, she fought to remain in school and went on to earn some of her best grades. In her second year, she became pregnant and returned to class shortly after giving birth, remaining committed to completing her degree on time.

Diverse Representation from Law Schools Across the Country

This year’s scholarship competition drew applications from students representing ten law schools across six states, including Georgia State University College of Law, Emory University School of Law, John Marshall Law School, Florida A&M University College of Law, Florida State University College of Law, Florida International University College of Law, University of Alabama School of Law, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and Willamette University College of Law.

Supporting Future Legal Leaders

In addition to the grand prize, several other students received scholarships, including a MacBook Pro, a $2,000 award, five $1,000 awards, and a $500 award. The event reflects the shared mission of Keller Swan Injury Attorneys, Tehlirian Law Group, and Legally Rooted Law to uplift emerging legal professionals and promote equity and excellence in the legal industry.

The 2025 Legal Leaders Luncheon marked a significant step forward in recognizing and supporting law students who exemplify resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to service.
